It's been a long time and now I'm back!

It has been a long time since I published a post on here. I am debating on whether I should continue to blog on here, or create a new blog spot for what I want to do. I forgot the e-mail I used for this site again, hahahaha, but I remember it now obviously, hence my new posting. I think I will continue on here since I already have it and I need to learn to continue what I started and stop starting something and moving on the next thing before the first thing is completed.

Since the last time I wrote on here, my dad passed away in December. During the time I was blogging he was sick and in and out of the hospital and nursing homes. After his passing it was hard for me and I have not blog since then. I had stopped taping my show, Living Life With Liz for a while as well. It's been hard since he passed and some days are better than others. I have wanted to come up here and write, but for some reason it never happened. Now I am back ready to blog again.

Losing my mind!!!!

O.K. I want to say I failed my mission in regards to the reason I started this blog, but I did not fail. Failure is giving up and not pushing and fighting harder to do what it is you wanted to do. I now have to blog at least 2x a day at the most for about a week, or so.

My forgetful self forgot my login information and because I have sooooo many e-mail address, I forgot which one this blog is assigned to.  I need a better filing system, lol.

I am back, I will be blogging more, so please keep checking back.

My tribute to Patrick Swayze

Patrick Swayze died today and my heart is saddened. I Loved him the moment I saw "Dirty Dancing" My all time favorite movie (Lord I must have seen that movie over 100 times!!) The movie reminded you of old time innocence, and how life was so simple and care free back then. The movie become a phenomenon and and overnight success. I have followed almost all of his movies since then...

Ghost was just as spectacular as Dirty Dancing, Patrick shed that tuff macho image and showed a more sensitive and enduring side. The scene where his character, Sam and Demi's character, Molly where on the pottery wheel molding the clay as the sweet tune of the righteous Brothers, Unchained Melody played in the background was so romantic and sensuous. (Heck it made me want to buy a pottery wheel and start playing with clay lol.) I just knew that I would not have had a man like Sam, around to hold me and help me mold my clay, hahahahahaha. As I digress, anyway the movie was a smash and you could not help but fall in love with Patrick!

Another movie which I was surprised I liked was, "To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everyting! Julie Newmar.,"Patrick played a drag queen called Vida Boheme, ohh  did he do it with class! And he looked great.
He played Vida with class, sophistication and glamor. I would not have thought that he could pull it off.. Patrick is such a sexy, macho man's man, it was hard for me to think that he could pull of the drag queen character in the manner in which he did.  He showed another side to his acting and that he was not a one dimensional actor.  He had depth and no matter what critics thought you had to give him his props. He put his all into his characters and you loved them, believed them rooted for them and even cried for them.

There are not too many celebrities I want to meet, or interview on my talk show, but Patrick was one of those people I wanted to meet and will never have the opportunity.. He leaves behind a legacy of movies, stage productions and though we will never see him again, but he will live forever in his movies and I am truly thankful for that.....

YOU WILL BE MISSED PATRICK SWAYZE!!! MAY YOU FINALLY FIND PEACE AND HURT NO MORE....

Enjoy Life

Life is precious! today I was at the movie theater about to watch a movie when a fire broke out.  Everyone filed out in an orderly fashion and thankfully everyone was ushered out and no one was hurt.  Times like these make you realize how precious life is and how without a moments notice tragedy can happen.

What in life are you putting off? What is procrastination preventing you from achieving. Live for today and live out your hearts desire because tomorrow is not promise to you, or anyone

Consequences of cheating

I was in the store today picking up a few items when I over heard the Steve Harvey radio show blaring from the speakers. It just so happened that they were reading today's Strawberry letter. As I heard the story I could not believe what I was hearing. A women wanted to know if she would be wrong to sue the women which caused her to contract Herpes, because she was sleeping with the women's husband. WTF??? YOU HAVE SOME NERVE.

To explain her story, she was having an affair for over 20 years with a Deacon who was married. The Deacon's wife knew about the affair the whole time. She goes on to say that she was a "GG" (Good Girl) because she remained faithful to the Deacon sleeping only with him for the entire 20 years. Somewhere throughout this crazy mess, she discovered that the Deacon's wife was cheating on him with a friend of hers and a colleague of her husband.

This women caught an STD, Herpes from her lover, but still continued to see this married man.  As she stated  " I was devoted and extremely faithful to him!" She then called the wife to inform her that she was infected as well, to which the wife retorted, "That's what you get for sleeping with him!"  The mistress later discovered that the wife was the one that infected the husband, not the other way around. NOW, she wants to sue the wife for catching Herpes, because the wife knew she had it, or should she just beat her down. She then had the nerve to sign it "3's a Crowd" So this women writes to Steve Harvey to ask if she was wrong for wanting to sue the wife for contracting a STD,  or should she just beat her down.

This women has got to be the dumbest, no sense of security, Home wrecking Hoe on the planet.  Let me get this straight! You ingratiate your ass into this women's life, sleep with her husband for 20 years and your mad, you want to beat up the legally married wife?  You're lucky she hasn't kicked your damn teeth in! I know people who has gotten beat for less a things.  Where do you get off being mad! What right do you think you have to bitch and complain.. If you had any class, or couth about you, you would have never brought this to light. You should have taken the shame of being a two bit home wrecking hoe to the grave with you and not let the world know of your ignorance and jezabel ways. How the hell can you even fix your lips to say you were faithful to him, how the heck do you remain faithful to someone who is legally committed to someone else? Do you think because you were dumb enough to give up 20 years of your life on a married man, that you were a good girl, REALLY!!!!!, YOU CAN'T REALLY AND TRULY BELIEVE THAT!!!!  Did you ever, ever think about the position you put the wife in? The agony, frustration, hurt and humiliation you put this women through while you were sleeping with her husband... You're right 3 is a crowd and you have been and overbearing, suffocating dark cloud over this women's life for 20 years. WTF??? She should sue you!!!

To the wife of the Deacon, you also got what you deserved as well.  As the story goes. The Deacon was engaged to another women, the best friend of his current wife. He cheated on his fiance' and left her for her friend, the current Mrs. So what goes around comes around.  You slept with your best friend fiance' married him and thought that he was going to be faithful, what the heck were you thinking....  This is a man that you should have stayed away from, from the very beginning. Did you think you were going to change him? Did you think you were so special that he was not going to cheat on you? (Oh he did it to her, but he won't do it to me!) His actions were an indication of the kind of man he was, unfaithful, a liar, a cheat. Is this a man you really wanted to marry and be with? The kind of man you want to father children with? A man with no morals, sense of family, or conviction. Sometimes women don't know what they are getting into when they meet a man, but in your case you knew because he was your best friend fiance and you slept with him and married him.  The truth is, all of you got what you all deserved!!!

It's hard for me to feel sorry for you knowing what you did yourself. In your case you made your bed and lord did you, your husband and someone else sleep in it. How the heck does he have the nerve to call himself a Deacon... This is why so many people are losing their faith in the church....

Michael Baisden stated correctly when he had a show segment titled "PIMPS AND THE PULPIT" God must be seriously rolling over up there asking WTH?

9-9-09

Today's date is 9-9-09, So many people were talking about how a remarkable day this was and special because of the date, I was happy because........ it was the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL for NYC Public schools.... Did I say YAY!!!!!!

I love my little pumpkin, but good lord get your behind back to school Whehhhhh.  All the little ones looked so cute with their little back packs on and lunch bags in their hands.  Andrew was fine. I met up with him at school, surprisingly the bus picked him up today, WOW!!!! I was shocked....  Last year they didn't pick him for for 2, or 3 days, I was mad as hell. Anyway, as I digress, when I got to his class he was happy and playing with his new friends, which made me happy.

To all the parents with children returning to school, celebrate now, because before you know it they will be on school breaks and at home driving you stark raving mad, but in a good way :-)

To all students returning to school have a great school year!!!!!!!!!!!!!

West Indian day Parade, WOW!!

Today was Labor day, the marking of the end of summer,  but what better way to go out than the annual West Indian day parade.  The revelers started to form as early as 8:30-9:00 AM. My friend and sorority sister asked if I along with others would walk with her down the parade route in support of her run for City Council.  We met as early as 9:30 AM and the floats and everyone who was partaking in the parade was there.

11:30 I stood and watch as a calvary of black cars raced by along with an enormous entourage of police officers in plain clothes and uniform scurried by with the Mayor in in his pink sweater tow .  From there the parade was in full swing. Politicians and future politicians alike marched waving their banners, placards and posters of themselves reminding everyone that the primary election is less than a week away.

We marched, cheered and danced down Eastern Parkway, which is usually a very busy thoroughfare on any given day.  The site is one to behold, the smell of all that wonderful made your mouth water and eager to taste all the wonderful food the Caribbean island has to offer.  By mid-afternoon the parade was well underway with all the beautiful costumes and the sounds of reggae and calypso music blaring from the numerous floats... The parade usually goes well into the evening finally winding down around 6:30-7:00 PM.  By then you are spent, from all the cheering, dancing and eating you have done throughout the day.

If you have never experienced the West Indian day parade, I would highly recommend you doing so at least once.  It is an experience you will not soon forget.

It's Sunday, what are you grateful for.

Actually, what are you grateful for on any given day.  We sometimes walk around complaining about what we don't have, how are lives are not what it's suppose to be and how it seems that everyone else seems to be moving forward except for us.

what if we changed our mindset and become grateful for what we have, I bet you will begin to see your life in another light.  You may not live in a mansion like your favorite rap star, movie star, or athlete, but you do have a roof over your head. You may not be eating lobsters, filet mignon, or shrimp's on a regular basis, but you have food in your fridge and or cupboard, even if it is a box of rice, can of beans, or a box of spaghetti.  Some of you may have a plethora of true friends and family, that is a great blessing.

Be truly grateful for all the small things and live in the now moment.  Stop living in the past, because you can't change what was. Stop trying to move to fast into the future, because in your haste to move forward you may past the blessings that were meant for you.  Live for right now, love, appreciate and show gratitude for who you are and  what you have and you just might see the world begin to open up and all that you were asking for might begin to manifest.

Love your day and love your life.

LABOR DAY WEEKEND

Ahh, Labor day weekend is here.  It seems like yesterday June was here, school just ended and the summer was fun was just about to begin.  What a summer indeed, or lack of summer.  It rained damn near all summer, the weather was horrible and it seemed like just when the weather was about to break, BAM (Like Emeril Lagsasse) same old crap.

I didn't get a chance to do everything I wanted to do this summer, part because of weather and the other part thinking, I have time. (Time waits for no man). Well time has flown by and the summer is gone and school is about to start.... This weekend signifies the end of lazy summer days, beach outings, BBQ's with family and friends and just hanging out in the park laying on the grass and watching the clouds roll by.

I hope everyone has plans for a good labor day weekend and I pray it is a safe and wonderful day for you, family and friends....

Why is Ashley Dupre front cover story?

Why, oh why did the NY Post feel that Ashley Dupre was worthy of a front page story?  With everything that is going on in this city and the world right now this is the best the Post could come up with for a front page story, that is sad!!!

The instant celebrity status of Ashley because of her tryst with disgraced  governor Spitzer is a sad reality of how shallow society has become. Since when is being a high price call girl something to emulate and glorify?  It is for this reason that so many young women feel that looks are the only thing that can get them anywhere and that to become instant stars and celebrities this is what they have to subject themselves to.

The demise of Elliot Spitzer's political career by his stupidity and arrogance was of course news worthy.  That was last years news though... If he foolishly wants to run for office again then fine that's his god given right, but that is not front page news.  Ashley's mother, Carolyn Capalbo, comment in the Post yesterday "Only in America" in regards to the possibility of Spitzer running for public office.. You're right Carolyn, Only in America can you become an over night success for prostitution, Only in America do you get notice for for illegal and illicit activities, Only in America do they glorify things that were once shunned and individuals would have been too embarrassed to show their faces in public. Your daughter chose to become a high price call girl! No one forced her.. Why were you not on tv, the radio, or in the newspaper chastising your daughter's choice of employment, or telling other young women this is not the path to follow.  Your daughter is no angel here either!!!!!

You state she is having a hard time getting back on her feet and that she didn't capitalize on the scandal especially by posing naked, OH WOW!!!!!! Your daughters actions and all the publicity they gave her set young women back so far.  Concentrate less on making remarks about Spitzer and work more on helping your daughter and other young women realize this is not the option they should choose and help them learn that using their mind can get them just as far as using their body!!!!!

Enough already of Ashley Dupre. She is not news worthy especially the front page, but then again it was the NY Post, what can I say.

Is God listening?

I became a christian over 7 years ago and have faith that God never gives us more than we can bear.  I have also heard and read that God answer's prayers, but what happens when you have been praying and praying for one specific thing and those prayers have yet to be answered?  Does that mean God is not listening?  What if you have been asking for that specific relieve for over a couple of years and still no answer.. Do you still have faith? Do you still believe and hold on to his word?

I have had periods in the past where I was so angry and mad at God for letting me remain in the muck and mire I was in. For not bringing me the relieve I asked for.  I felt that I was alone, truly alone for surely if there is no one else, God should be there right?  I did not feel his presence, his comfort, nor his love and for this I rebelled.. I stopped going to church and when I heard people say God answers prayers my response was "yeah when" I was spiraling down such a dark place and could not understand why.... My marriage was crumbling, I was unemployed, A best friend (Or someone I thought was a best friend) turned out to be a liar and backstabber and committed the ultimate betrayal.  My son was diagnosed with Autism and now I became a person I always said I would not become, a stay at home mom. (Nothing against stay at home moms, but it was not what I envisioned for myself when I was younger, never say never.) My finances which were a plenty were now drained and my house had lost that positive loving energy it used to have.. I had faith, I believed, I went to church on Sunday's, I lived by Gods rules do no harm to others. Help others if you can without expecting anything in return.   How could God love me and yet allow all this to happen without intervening.  How could he place such traders in my my midst? I could understand why people stray from their faith when so much is put on them and their world crumbles right from underneath their feet.

You are not alone in feeling this way, I was there and it was a struggle to get out from that dark and dismal place I was in... There didn't seem to be an end to that dark tunnel I was traveling in, but there was. Am I out that dark tunnel even as I write this, NO!, but I am so close to the end I can see the light at the end of it. I see the green grass and the beautiful skies.  When I look back now I can honestly tell you that GOD never left me.. I was just too angry and in a hateful place and could not feel his presence... Like the "Footprints" prayer I realized God was carrying me all this time because I could not stand on my own.. He was here with me all this time and I was just to blind to see it... I also realized that most of the things I had prayed and asked for had manifested, but I was too busy wallowing in self pity to see this. Yes God is listening and yes he does answer prayers, not when you want him too, but when he thinks you can handle what it is you ask for.

Has he answered  that one prayer I keep asking for, no not yet, but in my heart, body and soul I know he will answer that prayer.  I find joy in the simple things (always have, but during that dark time I just couldn't do it) I am grateful for what I have.. I have more than some and less than others, but what I have is mine and I am immensely grateful for that.  Where ever you are in your life, no matter how angry you may be, know that there is a resolution, know that you are not alone and also know that if you can find a way to find your faith and believe again, hold on to that, because that is what will get you through.. It did for me.

Dreaded apprehensions

I woke up this morning with a feeling of dread and a foreboding feeling of lost and like nothing is going to work out for me..... I was a little uneasy because I usually do not wake up feeling like this and do not know where this feeling was coming from out of the blue.. Has anyone ever awoke feeling like this? What was the outcome of your day? Where you ale to overcome the feeling, or did you let it rule your day?

I prayed and asked God to give me the strength I needed to overcome this feeling. By mid-day I was able to shake the felling somewhat and started doing what I know I have to do to continue to succeed.   Will let you know later tonight how the rest of my day went... I strive to live in a positive world and work on keeping negative thoughts and negative people at bay because they can drain all the good energy out of you.... I am sure you know a few soul sucking negative individuals... lol

Where has decent Customer Care gone?

Today I called my Congresswomen's office to talk to her about a issue I have with my home. Another Congressman I know recommended I call her because I live in her district...  Well, the women that answered the phone was pleasant at first, then when I started to voice my opinion about how I felt the Congress women was handling the Mortgage issue, she began raising her voice and yelling at me. I asked in an incredulous voice "ARE YOU YELLING AT ME?" Which she proudly replied, "Yes I am!" WTF??? What happen to professionalism? Do we not live in a free, democratic country where it is our constitutional right to say what ever we freakin feel like saying!!!!

She must be a family member, or something. Good help is so, so hard to find nowadays. Needless to say I am going to write my Congresswomen a nice letter informing her of the mannerism, or lack of from her staff..... I believe she needs a Life whisperer in her life.....  Have anyone out there had to deal with rude and sarcastic customer Reps., or Receptionist? How did you deal with it?
